Macy dislocates on Thanksgiving

After the hike at Webster’s Falls, part of the Bruce Trail. We decided that it would be fun to go for a stroll in a small town, like Cambelville. We walked through the stores and had a couple of laughs and then it happened. …

As we were walking back to the car Macy did what she likes to do from time to time, walk and drop. As any parent of a toddler would know kids like to just dangle – no warning and it takes the parent to hold up the child. It was my lucky turn this time and unfortunately when she dropped and I held….

She started to scream hysterically – I thought I broker her wrist. I felt sick…panic set in because just a couple of months ago Cali my eldest daughter broke her arm. We tried to calm her but it was no dice.

We went straight to Joseph Brant Hospital and called to Nana & Papa’s to meet us there. Once we got to Emergency Nana & Papa took Cali home and we then took Macy in to Emerg. When she did finally see a doctor, the doctor did this sneaky movewhere she put her elbow back in place and then gave her a popsicle – without us really knowing what she was doing…It was one of the same doctors that took care of Papa when he was in the hospital.

That was what I was most thankful for – I didn’t break my daughters’ wrist. So make a note when you hold your little toddlers hand that it could do a lot of damage if you are not ready for what can happen – Lesson learned
