The evening decided to revert back to the tail end of winter. It was raining sideways and Macy had her first soccer game last Wednesday. She could not stop smiling in her uniform as she suited up. Could not wait to get her new soccer shoes on. The field could not come to the car fast enough. Most importantly, she was going to play soccer just like her best biggest older sister.

She listened to everything her coach said. She followed every instruction and was just happy to be a part. It was like watching someone wake up to a love they had always known.

As Jen got her into the car, Macy asked why her hair was wet.

She was so engrossed in what she was doing that she was unaware that it was raining hard the whole time she was playing

Jen replied “You’re sweating - you played so hard that your sweating”

I have a funny feeling that Macy is going to be the type of person that is devoted to whatever cause or goal she sets her mind to…and as her Dad - I am OK with that.
