She looked so cute on her first day and I don’t think she could stand waiting for the bus any longer when it appeared down the road. She lined up in front and was busting at the seams to get on. She got on with her big sister and sat in the fifth row from the front on the right side. She was waving with the biggest smile.

It was what she had been looking forward to since Cali started going to school. It was finally here – the day she got to ride the bus!

She made some pictures and got a story read and almost had a time out but as she put it – not really – HAHAHA

Macy waved good bye as the bus drove away and of all the things that affected me most it was the school bus taking her away to make her different when she returned.

I am not speaking of a dramatic change – just an overall. It has to be she spent a whole day in a place that she will build as her own world – one that Mom and Dad cannot truly ever really know.

It is the most exciting feeling to watch your little ones thoroughly enjoy a new experience.

The best thing about Macy when its her birthday is she gets very cute. More cute then normal because she knows the attention is solely hers on that day. She also loves it that her big sister makes a pretty big deal of it so that she always feels special.

We had her birthday party on the Sunday and a bouncy clown castle was rented to house all the screaming meamies – HAHAHA

Too bad the first hour and a half it rained on the castle and 15 kids were in our house screaming and running around like a bunch of lunatics. Macy had a lot of fun because a lot of the kids that were invited were from the hood and she has gotten quite close to them – even though they fight everyday and then make up.

At the end of day – Macy had droopy eyes and lost her wah – she faded in true fashion and as I entered the room before I went to bed to look at her on her 4th birthday day – I looked at my little lady that despite all my pleading and begging is going to grow up.

She listened to everything her coach said. She followed every instruction and was just happy to be a part. It was like watching someone wake up to a love they had always known.

As Jen got her into the car, Macy asked why her hair was wet.

She was so engrossed in what she was doing that she was unaware that it was raining hard the whole time she was playing

Jen replied “You’re sweating – you played so hard that your sweating”

I have a funny feeling that Macy is going to be the type of person that is devoted to whatever cause or goal she sets her mind to…and as her Dad – I am OK with that.

I looked into their eyes this morning and saw the best I will ever see in our species. The best in children is the acceptance of the unexplainable.

What can ever stop your heart more then seeing a child ecstatic at the fact that the nicest of men hsa visited and bestowed gifts for no reason other then they had acted as good children should and are rewarded accordingly.

Munx and Fudz bounced all the way downstairs and vibrated through mounds of chocolate and gifts and wrapping paper to a place in the heart of young ones that resonates and adults adoration to cause them to realize….

Christmas with your own child is hands down one of the gifts that will never take away from you but only build you to a stronger and more appreciative place.

Thank you Cali and Macy for allowing me to be part of your experience. Jen made the day fantastic is a million ways I can never enunciate properly. As the butterfly I know her to be she was beautiful in ever yaspect and I thank her for giving me the two most precious reminders of purpose a man can ever be given.

All in all – one kid now immune the other still to go.

On saturday September 2nd Jen, Chantilly and I went to the Ben Harper concert at the Molson ampitheatre – Damian Marley opened up for him – One word “phenomenal“.

It poured for 6 hours – soak yet enlightened – Ben Harper rocked with the grace of an entertainer that has met his craft with conviction.

The next day we packed up and drove for 7 hours – It is a 5 hour drive. Macy makes the drive memorable every time – screaming, yelling, thrashing. Everything that a family drive should be.

We arrived in Ottawa in the early afternoon. Welcomed with much love and a long time in between visits- so fun so great to see the Ottawa clan. They loved/hated how much Macy had changed but of course made the most of this new chatterbox.

Thinking about my daughter turning two made me sad – I find her aging has affected me a lot more than Cali, my other daughter, probably because Cali amazes me at her independence and wisdom t such a young age.

Nanny made birthday cupcakes – Macy loved them – see picture here. She had a beautiful birthday dress on at her birthday – it had a two on it. This picture shows how proud she was and how much that she loved having a birthday with Chantilly and Munky.

Macy is an independent person and has no fear. She is very determined and can turn on and off the rage. She is a naturaly funny person and at 2 she has lived 14 years of funny.

sign present until after the operation. Gettting her dressed and bringing her downstairs and both Jen and I are bracing for the worst.

Macy is a creature of habit and when she comes down in the morning it is breakfast time. Nothing else matters until there is food in front of her. Today is no exception and she starts saying “baba – baba” – this means bottle and she really wants it. I feel so bad because I remember when i was little how much life sucked when I was hungry…..I could not think straight. So we quickly pack up and get her in the car where the volume rises to the sound of “baba – baba” yet still manageable.

Both Jen and I are anxious at what lies ahead. We get to Credit Valley hospital in Mississauga and follow all the protocol’s of rechecking in the checked in checked. We then are brought into a room where a nurse tries to take Macy’s blood pressure – 3 tries and no success. “That’s my girl”. We are then told to change her into these pajamas that look like prison issued garments, yellow stripes and all and wait for an hour and a half in the hall…..Smooth real smooth.

Macy wastes no time at getting restless and then proceeds to go nuclear….I then start walking her around the halls to keep her calm. While I am doing that I see Jen wave at me to come here. THey have called her name so I hurry over to her, she asks me to pass Macy over and before I know it, she is gone.

I did not get to kiss her before she went in and I did not get to say the million things I wanted to. I was very sad, so sad that I started thinking things that I never want to think about ever again. I wont type them because I started to cry waiting for it to be over and I dont want to start again while typing this.

Jen finally appeared and said that the Anaesthesiologist was very nice and Macy seemed to like her. We then waited the longest 20 minutes of my life and then Dr. Vodjvodich came out and said that everything went well and that she is ready to be seen (Only one of us could go to her in the recovery room with her – Jen got to go).

I had to wait….and wait…and wait. Finally they called and I was able to go see her. I was so happy to see her, so very happy – to know that she was alright and hold her and smell her. Her face actually smelled like the gas they gave her to go to sleep. When I got to them Jen told me that they got kicked out of the recovery room because she was screaming so loud. “That’s my girl”. We waited there for about 20 – 30 minutes and then we went home. When we got to the car we gave he a well deserved bottle – we she proceeded to inhale but before she could finish it she was asleep. My poor little turtle was fragged. The rest of the day she ate. She was in good spirits for the remainder of the day and was back to her normal crazy self by sleepy time.

Needless to say it was a great stress lifted off both Jen and I’s shoulders to know that she was ok and hopefully will never have another ear infection again.
